Orbiter 2
"Orbiter"
An A5 Lino print collection about feeling disconnected and needing something to return to. It is a quiet reflection on connection, gravity, and the delicate ways living things rely on one another.
These works are inspired by Noah Kahan's song "Orbiter" and exploring the idea of orbiting. How creatures are drawn toward softness, light, survival, and belonging.
Last year I was diagnosed with depression. I was left with a feeling of disconnection. I stopped trying new things and felt a little lost. Fluttering around wthout any end in sight.
Through these pieces, I wanted to capture the fragile balance between vulnerability and resilience, and how healing can often begin in the smallest, most delicate moments of connection.
I've chosen five different insects as "Orbiters" that find themselves grounded in the flowers. Finding their purpose in either their loved one's or the things they are passionate about.
Like the song’s imagery of circling something that keeps you grounded, these works reflect the gentle pull between nature’s smallest forms of life. Together, they become a study of interdependence: fragile yet resilient, fleeting yet deeply connected.
Ultimately, this collection became a way of translating emotion into nature. Using insects and flowers as quiet symbols of survival, tenderness, and the unseen weight we carry.
Through the process of carving and printing each piece, I found moments of stillness and reflection, reminding me that even in darkness, there is movement toward growth, connection, and light.
